The stewardship of the City’s 135,000 street trees, park trees and 195 hectares of woodlots falls under the responsibility of the Forestry Division. Current forest programs in Vaughan include arboricultural activities like tree pruning and removals along residential streets and in parks, tree planting, permitting and implementing guidelines and policies on the preservation and protection of trees impacted by development or through construction activities.

To report a municipal emergency or problem that requires immediate attention, call Service Vaughan at 905-832-2281. The following problem is considered a municipal emergency request:

  • Fallen limb
  • Fallen tree
  • Hanging broken branches 
  • Leaning / uprooted tree
  • Split / cracked tree

A Forestry inspector will visit the site within 30 business days to examine the condition of the tree and determine the work to be done. The forestry inspector will leave you a voice message or door knocker with the status of your call.
